About this wine
Catena Alta assembles historic rows from five family vineyards — Angélica, La Pirámide, Nicasia, Angélica Sur and Adrianna — between 920 and 1,450 metres, all planted with the family's own Malbec selection. Lots are fermented separately with wild yeasts in small bins and barrels, then aged 12–18 months. Catena suggests it can be drunk from three years after harvest and over the next one to two decades.

from the producer
Bodega Catena Zapata is a Mendoza winery whose history began when Nicola Catena planted his first Malbec in 1902. His grandson Nicolás Catena pioneered high-altitude Malbec; today the wines are made by fourth-generation vintner Laura Catena and chief winemaker Alejandro Vigil.
