About this cachaça
Fazenda Mãe de Ouro is a family farm in Minas Gerais, Brazil's best-known cachaça state, near the town of São José da Barra. The cane is cut by hand without burning and milled right away. The fresh juice is fermented with natural yeasts and distilled in a traditional copper pot still.
The Single Barrel is the farm's top bottling: pot-still cachaça aged for five years in American oak and released as a limited edition. The farm's original cachaça spends one year in oak, so this is a much older, more wood-driven expression of the same spirit.
