About this wine
Fontezoppa’s 2023 Vardì brings Verdicchio di Matelica’s mountain-and-sea character into focus. Fruit from elevated Civitanova Alta vineyards, planted in mineral-rich rocky soils and refreshed by Adriatic air, is handled with organic practices and stainless-steel fermentation and maturation. The result is a polished white with jasmine and citrus on the nose, juicy peach, pear and lemon across the palate, plus chamomile, saline minerality and subtle bitter almond. Lively acidity keeps its creamy texture energetic through a long, fresh finish.
