About this cognac
Maurice Hennessy created X.O in 1870 for his circle of friends, and it became one of the first Cognacs to carry the 'extra old' label. Its eaux-de-vie are aged in young barrels, giving power and energy that soften into roundness over time. The decanter, inspired by a bunch of grapes, dates to 1947.
It opens with candied fruit, builds through warmth and a peppery spice touched with chocolate, then settles into rich dark chocolate, oak and vanilla before a long, echoing finish. Sip it neat, or try it over a single large ice cube.

from the producer
Richard Hennessy founded his Cognac house in 1765, and Hennessy is still based in the town of Cognac today.
The house blends eaux-de-vie from the region's top growing areas. Its V.S, which Hennessy describes as one of the most popular Cognacs in the world, is regularly dressed in limited-edition artist bottles.
