About this wine
The 2023 Riesling Dry is Hermann J. Wiemer’s signature Finger Lakes bottling, built from Riesling grown across estate sites around Seneca Lake. Multiple harvest selections layer citrus, stone fruit and tropical tones, while taut acidity keeps the wine lively and focused. A mineral thread and floral lift add definition to its crisp, succulent style. Hand harvesting, indigenous fermentation and time on fine lees preserve both the grape’s brightness and the character of its cool-climate home.

Founded in 1979, Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard helped establish Seneca Lake as a home for vinifera. Hermann Wiemer brought deep Mosel Riesling roots to the Finger Lakes, and today Fred Merwarth and Oskar Bynke continue that legacy. The 90-acre estate emphasizes hand work, small-lot blending, indigenous yeast and attentive farming.
