About this sake

Itami Onigoroshi is a junmai sake from Itami in Hyogo Prefecture, one of the historic birthplaces of Japanese sake brewing. As a junmai it's brewed only from rice, water, yeast and koji, with no added alcohol. The rice is polished to 70% of its original size.

Onigoroshi literally means "ogre killer," a traditional name for a very dry, sharp sake; in the US the label is sold as "Ogre Tamer." With a Sake Meter Value of +6, it's firmly on the dry side.
