About this wine
Molino del Ciego is Roberto Henríquez’s skin-contact Sémillon from 100-year-old, hand-harvested vines on granitic soil in Coelemu, in Chile’s Itata Valley; the variety was first brought to this corner of Itata from France in the early 1900s. Yields are tiny, around two tonnes per hectare. The destemmed grapes ferment spontaneously with native yeasts and stay on their skins for about 26 days, then the wine ages in old barrels. It is dry, and this bottle is the 2023 vintage.
