About this wine
The 2022 Rivera del Notro Orange blends equal parts Sémillon, Corinto and Moscatel from 100-year-old, hand-harvested vines in Chile’s Itata Valley, part of the Bío Bío region. The vineyards sit on granitic soils in a humid Mediterranean climate that runs cooler than most of Chile. The grapes are fully destemmed and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in concrete tanks with gentle daily punch-downs, then age 11 months — 80% in concrete, 20% in old barrels.
Highlights
- Equal parts Sémillon, Corinto and Moscatel from 100-year-old Itata vines
- Native-yeast fermentation in concrete on granitic-soil fruit
- Aged 11 months, mostly in concrete with some old barrels

from the producer
Roberto Henríquez studied agronomy and winemaking in Concepción before working harvests in France, South Africa, and Canada. Returning to Chile in 2015, he established a small independent winery focused on old vineyards in Bio-Bío and Itata. His artisanal wines emphasize native fermentation, traditional southern-Chilean varieties, and a close sense of place.
