About this wine
Shaya is a non-vintage white from Rueda centered on Verdejo grown in organic-certified vineyards. Old, low-yielding vines rooted in sandy, pebble-strewn soils give the wine an aromatic, mineral character. Fermentation in stainless steel preserves freshness, while time on fine lees adds a smooth, creamy dimension; part of the lot is fermented and matured in French oak. Expect floral and orchard-fruit aromas, grapefruit lift, subtle marzipan and spice, and a long, mineral close.

from the producer
Bodegas Shaya, founded by the Gil Family in 2008, works in southeastern Rueda in Segovia province. Its vineyards include old, often ungrafted Verdejo vines plus younger trellised plantings. Elevated sites and restrained yields help the estate produce concentrated, expressive whites rooted in the region’s sandy, pebble-covered soils.
