JaliscoArette Artesanal Suave Añejo Tequila
The Artesanal Suave range is Arette's traditional line: the agave is slow-cooked for 48 hours in stone and brick ovens, fermented with wild yeast in open-air concrete tanks and double-distilled in copper-coil pot stills at El Llano. The añejo is then matured for well over a year in used American oak bourbon barrels, building oak depth around the cooked agave.

from the producer
Arette is made at the El Llano distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, founded in 1900 and one of the oldest independent, family-run tequila distilleries. Brothers Eduardo and Jaime Orendain, the fourth generation, launched the brand in 1986 and named it after Arete, the Mexican horse that won Olympic show-jumping gold.
The Artesanal line cooks agave for 48 hours in stone and brick ovens and ferments it with wild yeast in open-air concrete tanks; the Clásico line uses autoclaves. Both are double-distilled in copper-coil pot stills.
