Bulleit's bottled Manhattan rests on a simple idea: a spicier rye makes a better Manhattan. It combines Bulleit's high-rye straight rye whiskey with sweet vermouth and bitters, a recipe refined with help from bartenders.

In the glass it is clean and satiny, with woody rye notes and hints of dried fruit, spice and vanilla. Nothing to measure or stir: chill it, pour and garnish.

Tom Bulleit founded the Bulleit Distilling Co. in 1987 to bring back his family's high-rye bourbon recipe, which dates back more than 150 years. Its bold, spicy style quickly made it a bartender favorite.

Bulleit Rye joined the range in 2011. In 2017 the brand opened its own distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky, now a stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
