About this mezcal
Casamigos Mezcal Joven is made in Oaxaca from Espadín agave by a fourth-generation family of mezcaleros. The piñas slow-cook for four to six days in earthen pits lined with volcanic or river rock, are crushed with a stone tahona, ferment for six to eight days and are double-distilled in copper pot stills.
It is balanced and elegant rather than heavy: tamarind and pomegranate on the nose, then fresh mint and dried oregano, with delicate smoke and black pepper running into a long, silky finish.

from the producer
Casamigos, 'house of friends', was created in 2013 by Rande Gerber, George Clooney and Mike Meldman. It began as the friends' own house tequila, made to be smooth enough to drink without salt or lime.
Diageo bought the brand in 2017. Today Casamigos makes Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and Cristalino tequilas, plus a Mezcal and ready-to-drink Margaritas.
