About this wine
Special Selection is Caymus's top Cabernet. Each year the Wagner family sets aside the best barrels of its Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon to make it, so there's far less of it than the regular bottling.
It's made in the house style: dark and concentrated, with ripe, plush fruit and enough tannin and structure for long aging. Caymus has been family-run in Rutherford since 1972. This is the 2019 vintage.

Chuck Wagner founded Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford in 1972 with his parents, Lorna and Charlie Sr., making just 240 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon that first year. The family's roots in Napa go back to the 1880s.
Caymus is still 100% family-owned. Chuck's children, Charlie and Jenny Wagner, now help run the farming and winemaking. The best barrels of each Napa vintage are set aside for Caymus Special Selection.
