About this sparkling
Chandon Blanc de Pinot Noir is made from black grapes, mostly Pinot Noir softened with Meunier, from cool-climate California vineyards. Chandon was the first major U.S. producer of a blanc de noirs: its original 1977 bottlings had a faint pink hue it called 'blush'.
A rich nose of fresh figs, stone fruit and nutmeg leads to a powerful palate of elderberry, red currant and toasted almond. Time on the lees adds a smooth spiciness.

Chandon California was founded in 1973 by Moët & Chandon, the first French Champagne house to set up a sparkling-wine winery in the US. Its winery in Yountville, Napa Valley, opened in 1977.
Chandon makes its wines with the traditional method, with the second fermentation in the bottle, from grapes grown in cool-climate parts of Northern California.
