About this sparkling

Winemaker Beth Liston sources the grapes for Dark Horse's sparkling brut from vineyards around California, picking at night while it is cool to keep the fruit fresh. Fermentation runs at 55–62°F with aromatic yeast, and the wine rests in stainless steel until it is canned.

It opens with fresh apple and pear. Fine bubbles carry lively fruit and a touch of toasted oak to a layered finish. The single-serve can is easy to take to a picnic or the beach.

from the producer

Dark Horse is a California wine brand from E. & J. Gallo, created around 2010 to offer premium winemaking at an everyday price.

Winemaker Beth Liston works with grapes from a large network of California growers and uses techniques usually reserved for pricier wines, such as harvesting in the cool hours and selecting aromatic yeasts.
