About this wine
The 2018 Edmeades Mendocino County Zinfandel brings together 76% Zinfandel with 15% Petite Sirah and 9% Syrah. From Mendocino County’s coastal mountains, it leans into a generous California red style, layering blackberry, black currant, dark plum, and chocolate-covered strawberry impressions with baking-spice lift. Rounded texture and well-integrated tannins give the palate weight, while fresh acidity keeps the finish lively. It is a bold, fruit-forward bottle with enough savory detail to stay engaging.

from the producer
Edmeades began when Donald Edmeades planted grapes in Anderson Valley in 1963; his son Deron founded the winery in 1972. The house built its reputation on intense, hillside Mendocino Zinfandels and joined Jackson Family Wines in 1988. Dave Ready has led winemaking since 2017, continuing the focus on expressive Mendocino fruit.
