G4 is made by Felipe Camarena at El Pandillo, his distillery in Jesús María in the Jalisco highlands, which opened in 2011. The name refers to four generations of the Camarena family making tequila.

El Pandillo cooks estate agave in brick ovens, crushes it with a mechanical tahona, ferments with a 50/50 blend of collected rainwater and spring water and double-distills in copper pot stills.
