About this wine
Maurice Gavignet's 2023 Bourgogne Chardonnay comes from clay-limestone soils and vines averaging 25 to 35 years. The grapes are picked by hand and pressed directly, fermented in steel vats, then matured for ten months in oak barrels, only a tenth of them new, with two rackings before bottling. Expect aromas of white flowers and citrus with a light touch of oak, leading to a harmonious, aromatic palate and a long finish.

Maurice Gavignet is a family house in Nuits-Saint-Georges founded by Honoré Gavignet, who had tended vines at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Four generations later, great-grandson Arnaud Gavignet has made the wines since 2003. The holdings began in the Côte de Nuits and now reach Monthélie, Santenay, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Pommard, all sustainably farmed and picked by hand.
