About this wine
Quilt’s 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is winemaker Joe Wagner’s patchwork of Napa Valley, drawing fruit from sites as far north as Calistoga and as far south as Coombsville. Each lot was kept separate, given extended maceration and aged in French oak barrels (70% new) for about 20 months before the final blend was chosen through blind tastings. Expect crème de cassis, hazelnut, cocoa and blackberry preserves with a charry toastiness, licorice, stewed rhubarb and vanillin, then a rich palate of chocolate brownie, molasses and brown sugar balanced by brighter fruit.
