About this wine
Y Series is Yalumba’s contemporary, wild-fermented range, made with minimal intervention by Australia’s oldest family-owned winery. The Unwooded Chardonnay is pressed straight to fermentation, fermented by indigenous yeasts in stainless steel to keep Chardonnay’s fresh fruit, then rested on lees held in suspension for complexity. Pale straw with green hues, it shows fresh tropical fruit and spring blossom, then a long, creamy palate of grapefruit and barbecued green mango, with spicy lemon myrtle and a savory, flinty edge from the wild ferment. Lip-smacking acidity gives length and a savory, textural finish.
