About this wine
Les Terrasses Velles Vinyes 2022 draws on 31 hectares of old vines, 24 to 96 years old, across seven Priorat villages: Gratallops, La Vilella Baixa, Bellmunt, El Lloar, El Molar, Porrera and Torroja. The steep 'costers' sit at 350–640 metres on Priorat's laminar slate soils (llicorell). In 2022 the blend is 60% Garnacha, 39% Cariñena and 1% white grapes. Part whole-cluster and part destemmed, the wine ferments with native yeasts in cement, steel and wooden vats with a 41-day maceration, then ages 12 months in barrels and larger casks, bottled without fining or filtration.
