About this wine
Tignanello comes only from its 77-hectare namesake vineyard in Chianti Classico. First bottled from a single parcel in 1970, it was the first Sangiovese aged in small barrels and among the first modern reds to include Cabernet; the current blend dates from 1982. The hot 2022 aged just over 13 months, mostly in new French oak, plus a year in bottle. Cherry, black cherry and pomegranate with violets, balsamic notes, vanilla and cotton candy; dense yet fresh, with savoury tannins.
