About this wine

Part of Benedetti's "Special Selections", the Croce del Gal Blue Label Amarone is made in limited quantities from estate grapes hand-picked in the family's Valpolicella Classica vineyards and, as Amarone requires, dried before fermentation. Expect an intense garnet-red wine with a deep scent of wild berries and cherry jam, a powerful, round and fruity palate, and a long, jammy finish. This is the 2007 vintage, now with considerable bottle age.

Benedetti Corte Antica is a family winery in Gargagnago, in the Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella area of the Valpolicella Classica zone. Brothers Giuseppe, Davide and Simone took over the vineyards of their father, Luigi, in 1995 and began making Amarone for sale in 2003. They use only estate-grown, hand-picked grapes from the Classico zone and from newer vineyards at Marcellise.
