About this wine

This 2020 Barbera d'Alba from Giacomo Borgogno & Figli is made entirely from Barbera in the Alba hills of Piedmont. Expect a very intense ruby colour and a vinous, persistent bouquet that turns more ethereal with some time in bottle. Borgogno has made wine in Barolo since 1761; the Farinetti family bought the estate in 2008, returned to concrete tanks and spontaneous fermentation, and converted to organic farming.

Giacomo Borgogno & Figli has made wine in the village of Barolo since 1761. From 1920 Cesare Borgogno set aside half of each Barolo Riserva vintage to release two decades later. The Farinetti family bought the winery in 2008, converted it to organic farming and brought its historic concrete fermentation tanks back into use.
