About this wine

Borgogno's 2021 Barbera d'Alba Superiore is a fuller-bodied Barbera from the Alba hills, made by Giacomo Borgogno & Figli of Barolo. It shows an intense ruby colour, a vinous, lingering bouquet with ethereal hints, and a dry, slightly bitter palate with good weight. Borgogno has made wine in Barolo since 1761; the Farinetti family bought the estate in 2008, returned to concrete tanks and spontaneous fermentation, and converted to organic farming.

from the producer

Giacomo Borgogno & Figli has made wine in the village of Barolo since 1761. From 1920 Cesare Borgogno set aside half of each Barolo Riserva vintage to release two decades later. The Farinetti family bought the winery in 2008, converted it to organic farming and brought its historic concrete fermentation tanks back into use.
