About this whiskey

Bulleit Bourbon leans on rye more than most bourbons do, and you can taste it: there is a peppery, spicy edge alongside the sweet corn and oak. The recipe traces back to the Bulleit family more than a century and a half ago.

It is medium amber in the glass, with maple, oak and nutmeg on a smooth palate and a long, dry finish with a little toffee. That spice holds up well in cocktails, which is why it is a staple for Old Fashioneds and Manhattans.

Tom Bulleit founded the Bulleit Distilling Co. in 1987 to bring back his family's high-rye bourbon recipe, which dates back more than 150 years. Its bold, spicy style quickly made it a bartender favorite.

Bulleit Rye joined the range in 2011. In 2017 the brand opened its own distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky, now a stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
