About this whiskey
Jameson Original is the whiskey most people meet Irish whiskey through. It combines pot still whiskey, made from malted and unmalted barley, with lighter grain whiskey, and every part of it goes through three distillations before spending at least four years in oak.
The result is easygoing and rounded, with sweet, nutty and gently spicy flavors and a hint of sherry. Pour it neat, add an ice cube, or do as the distillery suggests and top it with ginger ale and a squeeze of lime.

from the producer
John Jameson founded his distillery on Bow Street in Dublin in 1780. The Bow Street site now hosts tours and tastings, but every drop of Jameson is made at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, using water from the Dungourney River, which runs through the distillery.
The range starts with Jameson Original and runs to cask-finished and older bottlings such as Triple Triple, which is matured in three types of cask.
- Blend of pot still and fine grain Irish whiskeys
- Triple distilled for a smooth, approachable style
- Aged in oak casks for at least four years
