About this wine
This is Zaccagnini's classic Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, the one with the vine twig tied at the neck. Destemmed grapes macerate with a submerged cap and ferment for about 15 days, then the wine ages in steel on its own lees — no oak. Deep purple with violet glints, it smells of ripe red berries and lively white pepper, and the palate is persistent with soft, harmonious tannins.
