About this wine
The Chianti Classico is the pillar of Castello di Volpaia, made from hand-harvested grapes grown at 1,300–1,870 feet on sandstone and clay, and aged 12 months in large oak casks. The warm, dry 2022 gave thick-skinned berries with ripe tannins. Vivid ruby, it has a strong nose of fresh red fruit and cherry and a well-structured, fruity finish. The label shows the 15th-century church of Sant'Eufrosino in Volpaia.
