About this wine
The estate calls 2019 'surprising' and 'solar': a dry, mild winter, a rainy spring with cool nights, then a hot summer with two saving spells of rain in July and August. Merlot was picked 23 September–2 October and Cabernet Sauvignon 2–10 October, by hand, then sorted again optically and fermented in temperature-controlled steel, part of the malolactic in new barrels. The grand vin was aged in French oak, 35% new. Grand-Puy Ducasse describes excellent, rich grapes and wines known for aromatic complexity, fine structure and ageing ability.
