About this wine
Haut-Brion remembers 2005 as a historically dry year, with high temperatures throughout and conditions the estate compares to 1949; the vines gave small grapes of extraordinary concentration, picked in perfect condition from 1 to 26 September. Aged in 87% new barrels, it was bottled in summer 2007. The estate describes an almost black wine with smoke, cigar and roasted coffee bean alongside currants and cherries, and a dense, long, creamy, big, powerful and fresh palate with incredibly long persistence.
