About this wine
Meyney's 2018 blends 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 18% Petit Verdot from vines averaging 43 years. Hand-harvested and carefully sorted, it was vinified plot by plot after a short cold soak, with macerations of about 20 days and part of the fermentation in new barrels, then aged in French oak renewed at 30–40% a year. The estate describes a deep ruby wine with violet glints, a rich nose of blackcurrant, blueberry, sweet spice and graphite, and a structured, balanced palate with a frank attack, dense mid-palate and ripe, silky tannins.
