About this wine

Cusumano aims for a Nero d'Avola that is elegant rather than powerful. The grapes, largely from warm vineyards near Butera on Sicily's south coast, are cold-macerated, fermented and kept in stainless steel on the fine lees for at least five months, with no oak. The sunny, very dry 2022 season gave small, concentrated berries: expect dark berries with a stony, savoury edge, a medium body with fine, firm tannins and purple fruit on the finish.

from the producer

Cusumano is a Sicilian family winery run by brothers Alberto and Diego Cusumano, farming estates across the island; much of its Nero d'Avola comes from the calcareous white soils of Butera, near the south coast.
