About this wine
Dal Cero's Amarone della Valpolicella comes from the family's estate in the eastern Valpolicella hills above Verona. Bunches are hand-picked and laid on wooden trays in drying lofts for three to four months, then pressed and left on the skins for 15 to 20 days. The wine matures in large oak casks and ovals before bottle ageing. Expect a deep, concentrated red with ripe fruit and spice, where the alcohol is balanced by fresh acidity and fine tannins.

The Dal Cero family has made wine since 1934, when Augusto Dal Cero bought volcanic hillside land at Roncà near Verona. His sons Dario and Giuseppe added Tenuta Montecchiesi in Cortona, and the third generation - Davide, Nico and Francesca - created an estate in eastern Valpolicella, on a terrace above Verona with volcanic and limestone soils.
