About this wine

Preziosaterra, "precious land", is Tenuta Montecchiesi's Tuscan red from Cortona, pairing Sangiovese with Syrah, the variety the Dal Cero family found best suited to the area. Each grape is picked and handled separately, macerated for 18 days, and given a gentle spell in well-seasoned oak casks before bottle ageing. Expect an intense ruby wine with ripe plum, cherry and spice and a smooth, rounded palate. This is the 2019 vintage.

The Dal Cero family has made wine since 1934, when Augusto Dal Cero bought volcanic hillside land at Roncà near Verona. His sons Dario and Giuseppe added Tenuta Montecchiesi in Cortona, and the third generation - Davide, Nico and Francesca - created an estate in eastern Valpolicella, on a terrace above Verona with volcanic and limestone soils.
