About this wine
Tenuta Montecchiesi's Sangiovese comes from the Dal Cero family's vineyards at about 280 metres in Cortona, in south-eastern Tuscany. After 18 days of maceration and fermentation, the wine completes malolactic in stainless steel and stays in steel for at least eight months, followed by a short rest in bottle, keeping the fruit in focus. Expect a bright ruby wine with cherry, raspberry and a touch of spice and a refined, well-balanced palate. This is the 2014 vintage.

The Dal Cero family has made wine since 1934, when Augusto Dal Cero bought volcanic hillside land at Roncà near Verona. His sons Dario and Giuseppe added Tenuta Montecchiesi in Cortona, and the third generation - Davide, Nico and Francesca - created an estate in eastern Valpolicella, on a terrace above Verona with volcanic and limestone soils.
