About this wine
Dal Cero's 2019 Ripasso Superiore blends Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara from the family's eastern Valpolicella hillsides. The young wine waits in steel until January, then is refermented for about a week on the pressed skins left from the estate's Amarone, which gives it extra body and a dried-fruit, spicy character. About twelve months in large French oak casks follow. It pours rich ruby, with sweet, succulent fruit, layered spice and a full palate lifted by tangy acidity.

The Dal Cero family has made wine since 1934, when Augusto Dal Cero bought volcanic hillside land at Roncà near Verona. His sons Dario and Giuseppe added Tenuta Montecchiesi in Cortona, and the third generation - Davide, Nico and Francesca - created an estate in eastern Valpolicella, on a terrace above Verona with volcanic and limestone soils.

- 60% Corvina, 30% Rondinella, 10% Molinara
- Re-passed on Amarone pomace, aged 12 months in oak
