About this wine
Arnoux-Lachaux's Chambolle-Musigny blends five hillside parcels high above the village, one of them Chambolle's top-lying site, with 1970s plantings rooted in stony clay-limestone. The estate is farmed organically and its canopies are left untrimmed, which ripens the fruit earlier at moderate alcohol. 2019 was the first year that no vine on the estate was trimmed; yields were tiny, the grapes were picked early, fermented as whole clusters without destemming and macerated for only about a week.
Highlights
- 2019 vintage, Chambolle-Musigny AOC
- 100% Pinot Noir, whole-cluster fermented (no destemming)
- Five hillside parcels incl. the highest in Chambolle

from the producer
Founded in 1858 in Vosne-Romanée and known as Domaine Robert Arnoux until 2007, Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux farms 14.5 hectares of Pinot Noir across six Côte de Nuits villages. Sixth-generation Charles Lachaux, mentored by Lalou Bize-Leroy, has transformed the estate with organic farming, untrimmed arched canopies and a growing share of whole-cluster fermentation.
