About this wine
Les Hautes Maizières is a 0.6-hectare single-vineyard Vosne-Romanée lying right beside the Clos de Vougeot's southern boundary wall, below Échézeaux, and once classified as premier cru. Its iron-rich clay-limestone carries vines planted in the 1950s, a soil that tends to give tenderness rather than power. The 2013 was made in his early years, shortly after partial whole-cluster fermentation was introduced in 2012, and was aged mainly in barrel.
Highlights

from the producer
Founded in 1858 in Vosne-Romanée and known as Domaine Robert Arnoux until 2007, Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux farms 14.5 hectares of Pinot Noir across six Côte de Nuits villages. Sixth-generation Charles Lachaux, mentored by Lalou Bize-Leroy, has transformed the estate with organic farming, untrimmed arched canopies and a growing share of whole-cluster fermentation.
