About this wine

Clos de la Maladière is a walled vineyard in the centre of Beaune owned solely by Domaine Cauvard. The red is bright in colour with the crunchy charm of fresh grapes when young, and builds a firmer, well-framed structure with time in bottle. This is the 2023 vintage.

from the producer

Domaine Cauvard is a family estate based in Beaune, with vines across the Côte de Beaune — Beaune and its premiers crus, Volnay, Pommard, Aloxe-Corton and Chorey — including two monopoles, the Clos de la Maladière in Beaune and Les Monts Battois. Vines are farmed under integrated pest management, mostly ploughed and fed only natural compost; grapes are sorted on a table and the wines spend 12 to 15 months in barrel.
