About this wine
Gran Reserva 890 is one of La Rioja Alta's Gran Reservas. 2004 was officially rated Excellent, and a slow, balanced ripening especially favoured the house's oldest, lowest-yielding vines in Briñas, Labastida and Villalba; it was the first 890 to include Graciano from the Montecillo vineyard. After strict selection it aged six years in barrels from the house cooperage, with ten rackings, and was bottled unfiltered in March 2011 — 38,000 numbered bottles.
