About this wine
Villa Antinori was first made in 1928 by Marchese Niccolò Antinori as the family's signature red. The 2023, after a cool, rainy spring and a hot, dry July and August, was picked from mid-September (Merlot) through Sangiovese to Cabernet around 10 October, fermented in steel, and aged in French and Hungarian barriques before bottling from July 2025. Antinori notes dark fruit, tobacco and juniper with spice, coffee and hazelnut, a mouth-filling, sapid palate with lively freshness and supple tannins, and a persistent finish.
