About this wine
Libranza is the top red of Bodegas Matarredonda, a family estate in Toro built around old, ungrafted Tinta de Toro vines in El Pego. The grapes are hand-harvested at low yields and sorted, and the wine ages about 14 months in French Allier oak before bottle ageing. It shows intense red berries, spice and roasted oak, a fresh and fleshy palate, and a long, elegant finish. This is the 2006 vintage in magnum; the winery suggests decanting because of natural sediment.
