About this wine

Paolo Scavino's 2022 Barolo draws on the top plots of seven vineyards: Rocche Moriondino, Vignolo and Pernanno in Castiglione Falletto, Albarella, Terlo and Vignane in Barolo, and San Bernardo in Serralunga d'Alba. Maceration and fermentation take place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, followed by malolactic fermentation in oak. The wine then spends ten months in neutral French barrels and another twelve in large casks, a year in stainless steel and ten months in bottle before release.

Paolo Scavino is a family estate founded in Castiglione Falletto and now farming 30 hectares across eight Barolo communes. Enrica and Elisa Scavino represent the next generation. The winery vinifies vineyard parcels separately, selecting the strongest lots while using careful cellar work to preserve the distinct character of each site.
