About this wine

Paul Hobbs' 2022 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir comes from several sites on varied exposures and soils, including Sebastopol series. In a year of low yields and the winery's earliest harvest on record, grapes were hand-picked at night from 30 August to 23 September, hand-sorted, given a five-day cold soak and fermented with indigenous yeasts and 12% whole clusters. Aged 11 months in French oak, 33% new, it was bottled unfined and unfiltered in August 2023. Tart red cherry and cranberry open into plum, boysenberry, orange peel and bergamot tea, with a fresh, juicy palate, a hint of sea salt and bright acidity.
