About this wine
Salvatore Molettieri’s Cinque Querce is a 100% Aglianico from Irpinia, the high, inland hills of Campania. The vines grow on calcareous clay at 450–480 metres. After 10–12 days of maceration on the skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks, the wine ages for 24 months in a mix of second-use barriques, tonneaux and larger oak barrels, then rests six more months in bottle before release. Farmed with organic practices, it is made in a run of roughly 2,700 cases a year.
