About this wine
Nectar is Tenuta Montemagno’s Malvasia di Casorzo Passito, a sweet red from one of Piedmont’s oldest native aromatic grapes. A few clusters per vine are dried naturally, either on the plant by twisting the stem or on rush mats in the cellar, before a cold pre-fermentation maceration and a slow 12-month fermentation in small, second-fill oak barrels. Deep pink with purple highlights, it is aromatic and balsamic, with wild strawberry and red-fruit preserve, and a sweet, full, harmonious palate of great structure with ripe fruit and blueberry syrup balanced by fresh acidity.

Tenuta Montemagno is a historic farmhouse estate in Monferrato, documented in records from 1563. Restoration began in 2005, followed by the first wine bottling in 2007 and completion of a modern cellar in 2010. The estate’s vineyards and winery sit around Montemagno in Asti, where traditional Piedmontese character meets careful contemporary cellar work.
