About this wine

Valle dell’Acate is the Jacono family estate in the Biddini districts near Acate, in Sicily’s Ragusa province, run under Gaetana Jacono. Il Frappato is pure Frappato from Vittoria DOC, grown on dark soils scattered with white stones, fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel after about a week on the skins, then aged six months in tank and at least three in bottle. Bright pale ruby, it is fresh and fragrant, with raspberry, blackberry, violet and sage, and a lively palate of red fruit and rosebud ending dry and persistent. This is the 2024 vintage.

Valle dell’Acate is a sixth-generation Jacono family estate in Ragusa, southeastern Sicily. Its 70 hectares lie across Biddini Soprana and Biddini Sottana, home to a range of native varieties. Guided by Gaetana Jacono, the winery’s full production is organically certified, carrying a nineteenth-century family tradition into contemporary Sicilian wine.
