About this wine
Valvirginio is the Chianti of Cantina Colli Fiorentini, a Tuscan growers’ cooperative whose members farm vineyards around Tavarnelle, Montespertoli, Montaione and Gambassi Terme on Pliocene clay. Sangiovese is blended with Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera, Colorino and Merlot and aged at least six months in stainless steel. Intense ruby, it offers blackberry and raspberry with hints of violet and iris, and a flavourful, full-bodied, moderately tannic palate with a pleasant red-fruit aftertaste. This is the 2021 vintage.

Cantina Sociale Colli Fiorentini began in Montespertoli in 1972 with 23 founding members. The cooperative now brings together roughly 350 farming families and about 1,500 hectares of Tuscan land. The Valvirginio label honors the Virginio Valley beside the winery, linking this bottling to its local landscape and community.
