About this wine
Samuel’s Collection honours Yalumba founder Samuel Smith, and the family-owned winery still makes its wines at his home estate in the Barossa. The Bush Vine Grenache is crushed parcel by parcel — mostly destemmed, with some whole stems kept for extra dimension — and fermented with wild yeasts, some batches resting on skins after fermentation before six months in older American, French and Hungarian hogsheads. The 2023 is saturated with brooding plum, red fruits, dark cherries and perfumed berries, and the palate is richly textured, fleshy, round and supple, its red juiciness merging into velvety tannins.
